Hope everyone had a wonderfully fantastic Turkey Day! We sure did!!
We had a totally gluten-free Thanksgiving meal that was DELICIOUS!! I could not tell the difference. If anything...it was better. (Sorry Grandma!)
The turkey was perfect and super moist.
And the dressing...You couldn't tell it was gluten-free. We make a combo white bread and cornbread dressing. It tasted just like what my grandma makes.
I made broccoli rice casserole with gluten-free cream of mushroom soup. It tasted much more flavorful...more mushroom flavor. Plus I made pumpkin brownies and a pecan (PUH-con) pie.
My 94-year-old grandmother and son made the mandatory fruit salad. I guess we have to have something healthy with al these carbs and sweets.
The one item that probably won HANDS DOWN this week was ice cream. I must admit that I was very skeptical about this flavor because I'm not a fan. BUT...I admit it...it IS delicious. It's Blue Bell's Pumpkin Spiced Pecan ice cream. X.O.M.G. it is sooooooooooooooo good!!!! It doesn't taste pumpkiny. And there's a swirl of caramel (KAR-mal) through it with spiced pecans. mmmmmmmmm mmmmmm mmmmm!!! It's a seasonal flavor as well as Peppermint and Holiday Cookies. Go get you some today!!
The rest of the time was spent knitting and putting together puzzles. It's a family thing during the holidays. But be careful if you ever work on a puzzle with us when you reach for a puzzle piece...You might bring back a nub. :) We get vicious!!
